4 min: Tottenham play out the back once again but Porro loses out to Mount, Antony’s resulting shot is wide. Philip has got in touch and said: “Just got back from 3 weeks’ holiday to find a bumper harvest of ripe grapes in my Paris region garden. So that’s my go-to “snack” for this game as I cheer on Spurs to pip the Red Devils.” Oh where were you on holiday? I think that’s the most sophisticated snack I’ve heard for a long while.
2 min: A slow start from Tottenham as they run the ball through their back line, the passes well controlled though and it propels them forward. Kulusevski crosses and it reaches Son but he can’t control.
Kick-off! Tottenham 0-0 Manchester United
Here we go! Can Tottenham get a win in their first home league game of the season? Or will United spoil the party? All to come!
The players will be out at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium shortly, who do you have winning this one? Let me know your thoughts.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou added at his presser: “It is a great challenge for us. The most important thing for us is that it is our first home game in the Premier League. Obviously last week we showed some really good characteristics in terms of our resilience. Tomorrow is all about showing a little bit more of our football against a really strong opponent. We want to try and impose our game style, and that has got to be our goal every week now, to see if we can improve our football and make an impact against the best teams. That is our challenge tomorrow.”
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was asked about Harry Maguire in his press conference. He said: “It’s up to him [how much he plays]. He knows what to expect from me. I’ve been here for one year now and you know what I expect from a centre half. And he can do it, I’ve told you many times before he has the ability to do it so now he has to show it. It is then about character, to be convinced to play that role, he has all the abilities to do it and it is up to him when the time [opportunity] is there.”

James has got involved in the snack chat and said: “I’m not going as posh as Fruit Pastilles: I think there’s half a Twix that my son forgot about in his backpack that I may snaffle later. The real issue is what we have for breakfast tomorrow while watching the World Cup final: my Spanish wife and I have been having high-level discussions about this all week.” Ah the rivalry will be strong tomorrow! The final should be a cracking game so you have to bring your best snack game too.
A fun fact for you, though not so fun if you are a Tottenham supporter, Spurs have only won one of the last nine Premier League outings against Manchester United. Can they turn the tide today?
I’ve just finished off a coffee and I’m thinking my snack of choice for this match will be some Fruit Pastilles, the purple one is my favourite. What are you snacking on in this fixture? Let me know via Twitter or email. Joe has already let me know what he’s got cooking: “I have no snack chat today, but I did just put some chicken thighs in a Peruvian marinade for dinner later today. It’s the aji amarillo paste that really seals the deal!”
The transfer window is coming to a close at the start of September and you can catch up with all the movements:
Another story that has been in the football news this week is Manchester United’s decision around whether or not to bring back Mason Greenwood. Jonathan Liew has written a piece on which you can read:

Preamble
Hello and welcome to Tottenham v Manchester United! The visitors will be looking to use their win to continue momentum in the new season while the hosts are searching for theirs first victory of the new campaign.
Last time out Tottenham drew 2-2 with Brentford while Man United secured a 1-0 win over Wolves. The victory was slightly controversial as Wolves were not awarded a penalty that should have been given.
Some transfer chat in the build-up to this game has centred on Harry Maguire. The former United captain had been linked with a £30m West Ham move but that has since fallen through with the defender set to fight for his place at the Red Devils. Manager Erik ten Hag has said he is happy Maguire is staying but has remarked he needs to improve.
In terms of who is available for the match Tottenham have Cristian Romero as an option after he was passed fit despite going off last time out. And United have been boosted by Lisandro Martinez being fit and available.
The two teams will be releasing their team news shortly so stay tuned before kick-off at 5.30pm BST.
